Fall into Foliage Season

There is a lot to enjoy during the fall season including, hiking, scenic drives through the countryside, and participating in some of the many fall festivals. The Vermont Wine and Harvest Festival at Mount Snow is September 17th featuring:

  • Vermont Vintners
  • Specialty Food Producers
  • Painters
  • Cheese Makers
  • Jewelers
  • Photographers
  • Farmers
  • And Much More!

There will be more wine events the next weekend following a Restaurant Week in the Valley. To learn more about the Vermont Wine and Harvest Festival click here.

Of course, the beauty of fall is available any day of the week throughout the entire season (no festival needed) and we’ve got the perfect place for you to stay.

Six State Parks

Big Bears Lodge is located less than an hour from 6 state parks in Southern Vermont. Going to these parks is one of the best ways you can experience the beauty of the outdoors in Vermont.

Great hiking, photo, and picnic opportunities await at all of these great state parks. Of course, if you don’t want to travel too far, Mount Snow offers a variety of trails too. Swimming is available in West River at both Jamaica and Townshend. Lowell Lake is also a nice spot for some kayaking or canoeing. Sweet Pond is currently drained in order to repair the dam, construction is expected to be completed in 2017.

Each year gets better and better with the great weather and the beautiful scenic ride through Vermont! Last weekend we participated in helping raise money for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. These foundations will both receive half of what is raised! So far Mothers for Daughters has raised $176,000 in the fight to find the cure.
